Module taken in Sem 1, AY2017/18
PL4237

Lecturer: Dr. Clare Henn-Haase Marie

Lecturer Review: Dr. Clare is extremely friendly and helpful, and she replies emails fast, so don’t be afraid to ask her questions after class! She’s also really open to feedback and does a midterm module review (and actually changes things based on the feedback). Generally a passionate and amiable professor who tries to make class interesting with debates, group discussions and videos.

Module Review
Content:
Different trauma treatments, etiology behind PTSD,
adjunctive treatments etc.
Generally easy to understand and follow.

Exam format:
30% Individual Paper
35% Final Case Study (in reading week)
25% Group Presentation
10% Class Participation

Many people (around 30-40%) did not take the pre-requisite trauma module, but I know of many who still did well! Anyway, there’s no test of knowledge (i.e. no mid-terms or finals), so it should be quite manageable even if you didn’t take the pre-requisite module. The assignments were not hard, but there was a lot of application involved. Generally nothing bad to say about this module, except that the final case study was due in reading week, and the case study was out on the first day of reading week, so the assignment kind of takes up a few days during reading week when you’re trying to study for finals. Would say this is a 4 (on a
scale of 1-10) with regards to workload. Because there is no
exams for this module, just a brief reading of the readings
will do, and there wasn’t many readings anyway. One of my
favourite modules this semester!
